Manas (FRU) to Bishkek at a fixed fare
The official airport taxi is 800 som each way to the city and 900 to 1,100 to the microdistricts, booked at a desk on the first floor of the terminal, west wing.
- The official fare is 800 som between Bishkek city and the airport, in both directions.
- The microdistricts are 900 to 1,100 som.
- Book it at the Manas Airport Taxi office, first floor of the terminal, west wing.
- A fixed published fare removes the argument that would otherwise happen at the kerb at 04:00.
- Manas is about 25 km north-west of Bishkek, so it is a real drive rather than a hop.
A published fare
- Manas Airport publishes its own taxi tariff: 800 som from Bishkek city to the airport and back, with fares to the microdistricts running 900 to 1,100 som.
- The taxi is ordered at the Manas Airport Taxi office on the first floor of the terminal building, west wing, or through the company's city office.
- This matters because of when flights land here. A lot of the traffic into Bishkek is in the middle of the night, which is exactly when an unpublished fare becomes a negotiation you lose.
The alternative
- Manas Airport launched Aeroexpress shuttle buses in June 2018, in cooperation with a private operator, so a bus service exists alongside the taxis.
- Marshrutkas and city buses serve the airport road, but they are not a comfortable proposition with luggage at night.
Where you are
- Manas sits about 25 km north-west of Bishkek, out on the plain.
- The drive is straightforward and the road is good, so the journey is short even when the hour is bad.
- Kyrgyzstan is a cash country outside the capital. Change money or draw som before leaving the terminal.
