Inside Bratislava only the clock matters, not the zones, so bus 61 to the main station costs a 30 minute ticket at 1.20 EUR, or 1.09 in the app.

A 30 minute ticket is 1.20 EUR, or 1.09 EUR bought in the IDS BK app, with reduced fares at 0.60 EUR and 0.55 EUR.
Within Bratislava, zones 100 and 101, only the time on the ticket matters. The zone printed on it is irrelevant, so there is no airport ticket to hunt for.
Bus 61 takes about 25 minutes to the main station, which the 30 minute ticket just covers. Buy longer if you are changing at the far end.
The app is the cheapest way to buy, machines next, and the driver dearest.
The airport is about 9 km from the centre. City bus 61 runs from in front of the Arrivals terminal to the Main Railway Station, and N61 covers the night.
Vienna Airport is 60 km away and often the better arrival. Direct coaches run to Bratislava in about 40 to 50 minutes, and fares start around 7.50 EUR on FlixBus when booked ahead.
The Austrian border is not a checkpoint. Both countries are in Schengen; the only thing that changes is the language on the signs.
Bolt is what residents use for a taxi, and the distances here are short enough that it is cheap.

Ignore the zones. IDS BK says plainly that for a journey inside Bratislava, zones 100 plus 101, you choose your ticket by time validity alone. The airport is inside the city, so it is priced like any other city ride.
A 30 minute ticket just covers the 25 minute run to the main station. If you are continuing by tram, buy the longer ticket rather than gambling on the clock.
A tariff and zone reform took effect on 1 June 2025, which renumbered the regional zones. Fares quoted before that date may not match.
Validate a pre bought ticket at the machine by the door. A ticket bought in the vehicle or the app is valid from the moment of sale.

M. R. Stefanik Airport is about 9 km northeast of the centre, which by the standards of the low cost airports on this site is next door.

Bus 61 runs from the stop in front of the Arrivals terminal to Hlavna stanica, the main railway station, in about 25 minutes. From there the old town is a fifteen minute walk or one tram stop.
N61 is the night service, so a late arrival has a public option rather than an automatic taxi.

This is the thing to plan around rather than discover.

Vienna Airport (VIE) is about 60 km from Bratislava and has vastly more flights.
Direct coaches run between the two, operated by Slovak Lines, RegioJet and FlixBus among others, taking roughly 40 to 50 minutes.
FlixBus fares on the airport to Vienna run start around 7.50 EUR when booked in advance, checked in August 2026 for departures three weeks out.
Consider it in both directions. Flying home from Vienna often costs less than flying from Bratislava, and the coach is shorter than many people's airport transfer within a single city.

Bolt operates in Bratislava and is the default. Uber works too.
Use a licensed taxi from the rank if you hail one at all, and expect a short, cheap ride: the airport is not far enough away to justify an airport premium.
