What you need, by where you are coming from
Arriving from the United States or CanadaA plug adapter, and appliances marked 100-240 V. Anything single-voltage needs a converter.
Arriving from the UK or IrelandA plug adapter is enough - the voltage is the same as at home.
Arriving from most of continental EuropePlugs go straight in and the voltage matches. Nothing to pack.
Arriving from Australia or New ZealandA plug adapter is enough - the voltage is the same as at home.
Socket types, voltage and frequency are the nominal domestic supply as published in IEC/TR 60083 and the national standards it lists.
Indonesian sockets are Type and at 230 V, and villa and guesthouse outlets are frequently unearthed.
Sockets in Indonesia are Type and at 230 V, 50 Hz - two round pins, the same shape used across continental Europe.
A Europlug fits everywhere. European travellers need no adapter, and Schuko plugs fit the earthed version.
British, American and Australian plugs need an adapter, sold in any Indomaret or Alfamart.
Unearthed sockets are the norm in guesthouses, villas and older housing: the same two round holes with nothing behind them.
230 V, so American 120 V-only appliances need a converter.
Supply on the smaller islands sags under load and cuts are routine, which is a reason to charge a power bank when you can rather than when you need to.
