Bern (BRN): train to Belp, then bus 160, not 334
The airport is reached by S-Bahn to Belp or Rubigen and then a BERNMOBIL bus. The airport names line 160; many guides and aggregators name 334.
- The trip from Bern main station to the airport takes about 35 minutes, according to the airport itself.
- It is two legs: a train to Belp or Rubigen, then a bus.
- Five S-Bahn lines serve those two stations: S1 Fribourg to Rubigen to Thun, S3 Biel/Bienne to Belp, S4 Langnau to Belp to Thun, S31 Muenchenbuchsee to Belp and S44 Sumiswald-Gruenen to Belp to Thun.
- The last leg is BERNMOBIL bus 160, from either Belp or Rubigen station to the airport.
- A lot of guides call the airport bus line 334. The airport's own page says 160. Believe the airport, and check the destination board.
- There is a taxi rank in front of the terminal.
- If no taxi is waiting, ask the airport ground staff to order one. The airport says so on its own page, which tells you the rank is not always occupied.
- Battery packs for electric bicycles can be recharged at the Welcome Desk in the terminal, which is a very Swiss detail and a genuinely useful one.
- This is a small airport with a thin flight schedule. Allow the full 35 minutes and then some.
Two legs, about 35 minutes
- Bern Airport is at Belp, southeast of the city, and the journey from Bern main station takes around 35 minutes.
- Leg one is the S-Bahn to Belp or to Rubigen.

The line number problem
- Many guides, and several booking aggregators, describe an "AirportBus" on line 334.
- The airport's own public transport page names bus 160. It is the operator's page for its own airport and it is the one to trust.
- Practically it does not matter much, because both descriptions point at the same short hop from Belp station. Read the destination board rather than hunting for a number you got from a guide.
Taxi
- There is a rank in front of the terminal building.
- If no taxi is there, ask the airport ground staff to order one. The airport says this explicitly, which is a fair warning that the rank empties between flights.
One nice detail
- The Welcome Desk in the terminal will recharge electric bicycle battery packs. For an airport this size that is a more useful service than most of what larger ones advertise.
