Honduras follows the regional pattern on allowances, and the Copan artefacts are the export rule to know about.
- Archaeological objects may not be exported. Anything from Copan or sold as pre-Columbian is national property, and the penalty is criminal rather than a confiscation.
- The allowance is a carton of cigarettes and a couple of litres of spirits per adult, plus a value cap on other goods.
- Cash equivalent to USD 10,000 or more must be declared in both directions.
- Coral and marine curios from the Bay Islands may not be taken out. Roatan's dive shops know this; the beach sellers do not mention it.
- The CA-4 area with Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua simplifies immigration but not customs - each border still checks goods.
