Nepal bans vapes and controls what leaves far more tightly than what arrives: anything old needs an archaeology certificate.
- Antiquities may not be exported. Any object that could be over a hundred years old - a statue, a thangka, a carved window - needs a certificate from the Department of Archaeology, and the airport checks for it.
- Electronic cigarettes are prohibited to import.
- The allowance is 200 cigarettes and one bottle of spirits per adult, with a value cap on other goods.
- Cash above the declarable threshold must be reported, and taking Indian rupees in denominations above the permitted notes is separately restricted.
- Trekking gear is not restricted, but drones need permission and are barred over much of the Khumbu and the national parks.
