Ezeiza Airport (EZE) to Buenos Aires
Manuel Tienda Leon runs the scheduled coach into the centre; fares in pesos are revised constantly, so read them at the counter.
- Manuel Tienda Leon is the established coach from Ezeiza to its own Terminal Pellegrini in the centre, and is what most visitors use.
- Do not trust a peso figure from a guide, including this one. Argentine fares are revised very frequently; read the price at the counter or on the operator's site on the day.
- Book at a desk inside the terminal - coach, remis or transfer. Do not accept a ride offered to you in the hall.
- Ezeiza is about 35 km from the centre and the trip takes roughly 45 minutes to an hour and a half depending on traffic.
- Aeroparque (AEP) is the other airport, close to the city and handling domestic and regional flights. It is not interchangeable with Ezeiza.
The coach
- Manuel Tienda Leon operates the scheduled service between Ezeiza and Terminal Pellegrini in central Buenos Aires, near Retiro.
- Departures are frequent through the day and tied loosely to arrivals.
- The company also runs onward transfers from its terminal to hotels, which is worth taking with luggage.
On prices
Argentina is the one country in this section where quoting a fare would mislead you.
- Peso fares are revised extremely frequently.
- Any figure printed in a guide is out of date, sometimes within weeks.
- Read the price at the counter or the operator's own site on the day you travel.
- Card payment is usually the better rate than cash conversion, though the situation changes; ask.
Booking inside the terminal
- Coach, remis and transfer desks are inside the arrivals hall.
- A remis is a booked private car with the price agreed at the desk - the standard Argentine alternative to a taxi.
- Do not accept a ride from anyone who approaches you. The official desks do not tout, and this is the ordinary rule at large Latin American airports.
Two airports
- Ezeiza (EZE) - international, about 35 km southwest of the centre.
- Aeroparque (AEP) - domestic and regional, right by the river a few kilometres from the centre.
- Connections between them take an hour or more. Check which one your onward flight uses; the names are not interchangeable and the difference is an afternoon.
