Where it is
- Connemara Regional Airport is at Inverin (Indreabhan), County Galway, about 30 minutes' drive west of Galway city, roughly 27 km out along the coast road.
- Rossaveal, the Aran Islands ferry port, is nearby. Worth knowing: the two routes to the islands leave from more or less the same stretch of coast, so a cancelled flight has a fallback.
The shuttle bus
- A connecting bus service runs from Galway City to the airport, operated for Aer Arann Islands.
- Book it when you book your flight. Tickets must be bought online, and they are non-refundable if you cancel.

- Galway Tourism gives the drive as 27 km, which on the coast road is around half an hour.
The rules that catch people
- Check-in is 45 minutes before departure and flights are not held for late arrivals. On an eight minute hop that ratio feels wrong, and it is still the rule.
- Hand luggage is 10 kg, to the dimensions of a standard carry-on, 40x30x20 cm. Oversized or extra bags must be arranged in advance and may cost more.
- Bikes, surfboards and diving gear can go, but space is limited and you have to ask first.
- Small pets up to 15 kg are welcome.
Reliability
- Flights run seven days a week, all year, closed only three days of the year.
- The west coast weather is the variable. The operator advises leaving flexibility in winter plans, and a weather cancellation gets you a reschedule or a full refund.
