Pristina Airport (PRN) to the city
Taxis at a customary fixed rate are the practical option, and Skopje is a genuine alternative arrival.
- The airport is about 15 km southwest of Pristina.
- Taxis are the practical way in, at a customary fixed rate - agree it before you set off.
- A shuttle bus runs to the city but is infrequent and loosely timed to flights.
- Skopje airport is about two hours away by road and is frequently much cheaper; buses between the two cities are frequent.
- The airport is busiest in July and August, when Kosovars living in Switzerland, Germany and Austria come home.
Getting in
- Taxis wait outside and there is a customary fixed fare into Pristina. Agree it first.
- A shuttle bus runs into the city, infrequently.
- The airport is small and handles a large diaspora traffic, which concentrates in the summer months.
Skopje as the alternative
- Skopje is about two hours from Pristina by road, with frequent buses.
- It usually has more flights and lower fares.
- This is a normal way to reach Kosovo, not a workaround.
Before you travel on to Serbia
- Read the Kosovo entry guidance before planning to cross into Serbia. Serbia does not recognise Kosovo, and entering Serbia directly from Kosovo without an existing Serbian entry stamp can be refused. Flying into Pristina and out through Belgrade is exactly the trip that goes wrong.
