Bus 119 no longer exists; trolleybus 59 replaced it in March 2024, and one 50 CZK ticket covers it plus the metro.

Bus 119 was retired on 6 March 2024. Trolleybus 59 replaced it on the same route. Almost every guide in print still tells you to look for the 119.
One 50 CZK ticket covers the whole journey - trolleybus, the change and the metro - because it is valid for 90 minutes, not for one vehicle. It is 46 CZK in the PID Litacka app.
Trolleybus 59 runs to Nadrazi Veleslavin on metro line A (green), about 15 minutes, then roughly 15 more into the centre.
There is no railway station and no metro at the airport. Prague is a large European capital without a rail link to its airport, and this surprises people.
The Airport Express (AE) goes direct to the main railway station for 200 CZK, in about 40 minutes - worth it only if you are catching a train. No PID ticket is valid on it, and the fare doubled on 1 January 2026.

The bus number everybody gets wrong

Line 119 was retired on 6 March 2024 and replaced by trolleybus 59, running the same connection from both terminals to Nadrazi Veleslavin on metro line A. Guidebooks, blogs and a good deal of hotel advice still say 119.

One ticket, not two

This is the part that saves money and confusion.

A single 90-minute ticket covers the whole run - trolleybus, metro, tram, and every change between them. It costs 50 CZK on paper, or 46 CZK in the PID Litacka app.
The 30-minute ticket is 39 CZK, and it is not enough for the airport run once you include the walk and the wait. Buy the 90-minute one.
Fares rose on 1 January 2026. Anything quoting 40 CZK for 90 minutes, this page included until August 2026, is out of date.
Children under 6 travel free, and children 6 to 15 and travellers 65 and over pay about half on proof of age.
Validate it when you first board. The 90 minutes runs from validation, and inspectors on the airport route are routine.
Buy from the machines at the stop, in the PID Litacka app, or contactless on board where supported.

The alternatives

Airport Express (AE) runs direct to Praha hlavni nadrazi, the main railway station, in about 40 minutes. It goes every 20 to 30 minutes through the day and hourly overnight.
The AE is a separate fare: 200 CZK, or 100 CZK for children 6 to 15 and free under 6. No PID ticket is valid on it, so the 50 CZK ticket above does not cover it. The fare doubled from 100 CZK on 1 January 2026.
That makes the AE worth it only if your next move is a train to Vienna, Berlin or Brno. For anywhere else in Prague, the trolleybus and metro cost a quarter as much.
Taxis and ride-hailing work normally; Bolt and Uber both operate. The airport has a regulated taxi service at the rank - use it rather than anyone approaching you inside the terminal.

No rail link

Prague has no airport railway station. A line has been planned for years and is not open. If your itinerary assumed a train the way Vienna or Amsterdam has one, rebuild it around the trolleybus.
