Gimpo (GMP): the best-connected airport station in Korea
The Airport Railroad, Subway Lines 5 and 9, the Gimpo Goldline and the Seohae Line all serve Gimpo, which puts most of Seoul within about an hour without a bus.

- The Airport Railroad (AREX), Subway Line 9 and the Gimpo Goldline all call there.

Five lines, one station
- Gimpo Airport International Terminal is served by the Airport Railroad, Subway Line 9 and the Gimpo Goldline, and by the Seohae Line and Subway Line 5 as well.
- That is five rail lines at one airport, which is more than Incheon has and more than most airports anywhere.
- Central Seoul is reachable within about an hour on any of them, and usually faster than that.
Which line for what
- AREX is the airport line, running through to Incheon in one direction and Seoul Station in the other.
- Line 9 is the express-capable line along the south bank, useful for Gangnam and the COEX side.
- Line 5 crosses the city centre and is the straightforward option for Gwanghwamun and Jongno.
- The Gimpo Goldline and Seohae Line serve the western suburbs and Gyeonggi.
What Gimpo is for
- It is Seoul's domestic airport, and it also handles short international routes: Tokyo Haneda, Osaka, Shanghai, Beijing and Taipei Songshan.
- Those routes exist because Gimpo is close to the city. For a business day trip to Tokyo, Gimpo to Haneda saves an hour at each end over Incheon to Narita.
