Which airport are you landing at?3

Pick yours for the routes into town, what they cost, and the trap particular to that airport.

A 30-minute ticket into Vilnius costs EUR 0.65 - but the apps everyone recommends need a Lithuanian phone number, so tap a bank card instead.

Vilnius Airport (VNO)
  • The airport is about 6 km from the centre and the transfer is short and cheap.
  • Bus 88 runs from the terminal into the centre in about 20 minutes, every 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Bus 3G is the express and the fastest option, running every 10 minutes and also taking about 20 minutes.
  • Buses 1 and 2 connect to the railway station and the bus station.
  • Bus 88N covers the night, running 22:30 to 05:30, so a late arrival has a public option.
The fares, and the app trap
Transport from the airport in Lithuania
TicketPrice
30 minutesEUR 0.65
60 minutesEUR 0.90
One dayEUR 5.00
JUDU cardEUR 1.50
  • These are among the cheapest airport transfers in Europe.
  • The m.Ticket and Trafi apps require a Lithuanian phone number. This is the trap: they are what every guide recommends and what residents use, and a visitor with a foreign number cannot register.
  • Tap a contactless bank card on the validator instead. It works, it needs nothing installed, and it is what you should plan to do.
  • The Narvesen shop in the airport also sells tickets if you would rather hold something physical.
Taxis and ride-hailing
  • Bolt is ubiquitous and cheap and is what residents use.
  • Use the app rather than a rank taxi. Airport ranks in the region have a reputation for opportunistic pricing, and the app removes the argument.
