Kuressaare (URE): free parking only counts if you register it
Three town buses serve the airport and a taxi is about ten euro. Since 1 July 2026 the first 24 hours of parking are free, but only if you start the session in an app. A parking disc is not enough.
- Buses 1, 2 and 12-3 connect Kuressaare Airport with the town.
- The airport is 3 km from the city centre.
- Average taxi fares are around 10 EUR, and Bolt works here.
- Taxis drop off right in front of the terminal.
- Parking has been chargeable since 1 July 2026.
- The first 24 hours are free, but you must still register the start of parking in a mobile app or by mobile parking. A parking disc alone is not enough.
- That is the catch. Leaving a disc on the dashboard for a day trip is not compliant, even inside the free period.
- After the free period, each further commenced 24 hours costs 3 euro.
- A monthly pass is 30 euro, and periodic passes are priced by length.
- Pay via Pargi.ee or Parkner, or by mobile phone using the area code KUR.
- A mobile operator service fee applies to every session, including one under 24 hours.
- The car park is unattended. The page gives its size as both 88 and 70 spaces, so treat the figure as approximate.
Buses
- Routes 1, 2 and 12-3 connect the airport with Kuressaare, on the ordinary town network.
- The airport is 3 km from the centre, which is why the town buses do the job and there is no airport coach.
Taxi
- Taxis drop off right in front of the terminal.
- Average fares are around 10 EUR for the run into town.
- Bolt operates here as well as the local taxi firms.
Parking, and the trap in the free period
- Parking became chargeable on 1 July 2026.
- The first 24 hours are free. But the airport is explicit that the start of parking must still be registered in a mobile app or by mobile parking, and that a parking disc alone is not sufficient.
- After the free period, every further commenced 24 hours is 3 euro.
- Longer stays: a periodic pass priced by length, or a monthly pass at 30 euro.
- Pay through Pargi.ee or Parkner, or by mobile phone using the parking area code KUR.
- A service fee from your mobile operator applies to each session, and the airport notes this applies even to a stay under 24 hours.
- Parking operations are run by Uhisteenused AS.
- The airport's page gives the car park as 88 spaces in one place and 70 in another. Either way it is a small unattended lot in front of the terminal.
