Getting from Montreal-Trudeau International Airport to the city

The fare is a travelcard

• That reframes the price entirely. It is not an $11 bus ride; it is a day pass with an airport transfer attached, and if you use the metro at all on your first day it has already paid for itself.

The route and the hours

• Line 747 runs between YUL Montreal-Trudeau and the Lionel-Groulx and Berri-UQAM metro stations.
• It runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, which is unusual for an airport bus anywhere and is the reason it works for a 02:00 arrival.
• Lionel-Groulx is the interchange for the green and orange metro lines; Berri-UQAM is downtown and the hub of the network.

The REM

• A REM station is being built at the airport itself, and until it opens there is a bus connection between the REM Des Sources station and YUL.
• The 747's 24 hour pass already covers the REM, so the two systems are one fare rather than two.

Practical

• Buy the ticket from the machine in the international arrivals hall, or on board with exact change.
• Taxis and ride-hailing run to a fixed-rate zone system into downtown, which is the fallback when you are three deep in luggage.
