Enontekio (ENF): check the season before you book anything
This is a municipal airfield with seasonal, largely charter traffic. The region's own travel advice is that public transport depends on the season, and much of it is about reaching Enontekio from other airports.

- From Rovaniemi: buses from the bus station, on the Matkahuolto network.
- By rail, take a train to Kolari or Rovaniemi. An overnight train can carry your car.
- From Kolari there is a daily connection: Liikenne Rundgren runs Kolari to Muonio and Kolari to Muonio to Vuontisjarvi to Hetta every day, with tickets from Matkahuolto.
- The airport is about 9 km from Hetta, the municipal centre.
- Kilpisjarvi, in the far northwest arm, is the other destination these routes serve.

- Enontekio Airport is operated by the municipality of Enontekio. It is not in Finavia's network, which is why there is no Finavia page for it.
- Its traffic is seasonal. Winter charter flights dominate, and regular scheduled service is limited.
- The airport is about 9 km from Hetta, the municipal centre.
The region's own advice
- Enontekio's tourism organisation says plainly that public transport options depend on the season, that it updates its page regularly, and that the operators always have the best information on current routes and timetables.
- It recommends checking your connections before committing to flights or train tickets. For an Arctic municipality with a seasonal airfield that is sound and unusually honest advice.

- The nearby airports it names are Kittila, Rovaniemi, Kiruna in Sweden, and Tromso and Alta in Norway.
- From any of them you are in Enontekio in about two hours by hire car, bus or demand taxi.
- This is worth taking seriously when you plan. For many trips the sensible route into Enontekio is not through Enontekio Airport.
