Gaziantep (GZT): the Havas shuttle is a fifth of the taxi
Three ways in at three prices. The Havas shuttle waits for arriving flights and drops you in the centre in forty minutes for a fraction of a metered taxi.
- The airport is about 20 km from central Gaziantep.
- The Havas shuttle is the sensible option, about 40 minutes to the centre.
- The Havas fare is quoted at 230 or 250 TRY depending on the source, with children at half. Take it as roughly 230 to 250.
- It stops at Şehreküstü İtfaiyesi and İnönü Caddesi, by Şirehan Devlet Hastanesi, before terminating at the Havas city office on Gazi Muhtar Paşa Bulvarı.
- Departures from the airport are timed to arriving flights. Going the other way the timetable is fixed, with runs at 00:45, 02:30, 05:45, 06:15, 07:00, 08:30, 10:00, 13:00, 13:30, 15:30, 18:00, 20:30 and 21:30.
- A metered taxi is about 1,100 TRY and takes 25 to 30 minutes in normal traffic, so roughly four to five times the shuttle.
- The GAZİULAŞ K16-1 city bus links the airport with central Balıklı on a Gaziantep Kart, and is the cheapest option at about 75 minutes.
- The city bus needs the card. Buy a Gaziantep Kart before you rely on it.
- Taxis wait directly outside the terminal.

- The shuttle is the default answer. It is four to five times cheaper than a taxi and only fifteen minutes slower.
- The fare comes back two ways. One source says 230 TRY with children at 115, another 250 with children at 125. Turkish shuttle fares move with inflation, so treat either as approximate and expect it to have risen.
The Havas shuttle, in detail
- Departures from the airport are timed to arriving flights, so there is no timetable to memorise on the way in. You buy on board or at the desk.
- Two stops before the end: Şehreküstü İtfaiyesi and İnönü Caddesi by Şirehan Devlet Hastanesi. The terminus is the Havas city office on Gazi Muhtar Paşa Bulvarı.
- Going back out, the timetable is fixed. 00:45, 02:30, 05:45, 06:15, 07:00, 08:30, 10:00, 13:00, 13:30, 15:30, 18:00, 20:30 and 21:30. Note the overnight runs, which cover the early morning departures.
The city bus
- GAZİULAŞ route K16-1 connects the airport to central Balıklı.
- It needs a Gaziantep Kart, the local transit card, rather than cash.
- 75 minutes against 40 on the shuttle. Worth it if you are counting lira and have a small bag; not worth it otherwise.
The taxi
- About 1,100 TRY on the meter, 25 to 30 minutes.
- Insist on the meter. That is the published figure and a quoted flat fare is unlikely to beat it.
Why people come here
- Gaziantep is the food city of Turkey, with the Zeugma Mosaic Museum and a pistachio and baklava reputation that draws domestic tourism as much as foreign.
- It is also the nearest large airport to the Syrian border region, which shapes a lot of the traffic through it.
