Gazipasa (GZP): the airport publishes the distance to every resort
Alanya is 40 km, Side is 100 and Antalya is 180. The airport prints the whole table, which settles the question of whether GZP or Antalya is your airport.
- The airport is 40 km from Alanya and 7 km from Gazipaşa itself.
- The airport publishes distances to every resort on the coast, which is the fastest way to decide whether to fly here or into Antalya.
- Antalya is 180 km away. If your hotel is west of Side, GZP is the wrong airport.
- The Havas shuttle to Alanya takes about 60 minutes.
- A taxi covers it in about 45 minutes and a private transfer in about half an hour.
- Airport taxis are run by the Gazipaşa Airport Taxi Drivers Cooperative, on +90 533 632 5988.
- Shuttle departures are timed to flights rather than to a fixed public timetable.
- Alanya holds about a quarter of all the hotel beds in Antalya province, which is why this airport exists.
- The road network reaches the furthest beaches within about two hours.
- Traffic is heavily seasonal. European and CIS charter flying dominates, so out of season the terminal is very quiet.
The distance table, from the airport itself
| Destination | Distance |
|---|---|
| Gazipaşa | 7 km |
| Demirtaş | 20 km |
| Kargıcak | 25 km |
| Mahmutlar | 30 km |
| Kestel | 35 km |
| Alanya | 40 km |
| Konaklı | 55 km |
| Türkler | 60 km |
| Avsallar | 65 km |
| İncekum | 70 km |
| Okurcalar | 75 km |
| Anamur | 80 km |
| Bozyazı | 95 km |
| Manavgat and Side | 100 km |
| Belek and Serik | 150 km |
| Antalya | 180 km |
- This table is the whole decision. Alanya, Mahmutlar, Kestel and the beaches immediately east of Alanya are GZP's natural catchment. Side is borderline. Belek, Serik and Antalya itself are not.
- Anamur and Bozyazı, to the east, are also closer to here than to anywhere else, which is worth knowing if you are heading along the Cilician coast.
Getting to your hotel
- The Havas shuttle to Alanya is about 60 minutes. Departures are timed to arriving flights.
- A taxi is about 45 minutes, run by the Gazipaşa Airport Taxi Drivers Cooperative, contactable on +90 533 632 5988.
- A pre-booked private transfer is the quickest at around half an hour, and for a family with luggage it is usually also the cheapest per head.
- Car hire is available at the airport, which makes sense here because the coast road is the attraction and the resorts are strung along it.
Why the airport is here at all
- Alanya accommodates about 25 percent of the total hotel beds in Antalya province. Before GZP opened, every one of those guests came through Antalya and did a two to three hour coach transfer.
- The airport is on the highways, and its own claim is that ground transport to the furthest beaches is possible within two hours.
- The traffic is European and CIS charter, heavily seasonal. In July and August the arrivals hall fills in waves as charters land together; out of season it is close to empty.
