- At Broadbeach South change to the tram for Surfers Paradise, Southport and on to Helensvale, where the Brisbane train starts.
- Route 760 also serves the airport, running to Robina Town Centre one way and Tweed Heads the other, 05:02 to 22:02.
- The airport straddles the Queensland and New South Wales border, and Tweed Heads is the New South Wales side, a walk or a short bus away.

Route 777, and why it goes to Broadbeach

- That is the right design: from Broadbeach South the tram runs the length of the coast strip through Surfers Paradise and Southport to Helensvale, where the heavy rail to Brisbane begins.

The other route
- Route 760 also calls at the airport, running inland to Robina Town Centre in one direction and south over the border to Tweed Heads in the other. 05:02 to 22:02.
- Use it for Robina, which is on the Brisbane railway line, or for the Tweed.
Getting to Brisbane
- The airport is a long way from Brisbane, roughly 100 km. The public transport route is 777 to Broadbeach South, tram to Helensvale, train to Brisbane, and it takes well over two hours.
- For Brisbane, the coach or a car is usually the better answer, and Brisbane Airport is the better airport if you have the choice.
The border oddity
- The airport sits astride the Queensland and New South Wales state line. The terminal is in Queensland, part of the runway is in New South Wales.
- Queensland does not observe daylight saving and New South Wales does. From October to April, walk south out of the terminal and the clocks jump an hour. Airline schedules are always in the airport's own time, which is Queensland time.
