The M2 metro leaves from the end of Terminal 3 and is in the old town in 13 minutes, all night. Buy the ticket in an app or at a machine before you board - there are no barriers and no bank-card tap.
- The M2 metro runs from the end of Terminal 3 and reaches Kongens Nytorv in 13 minutes for DKK 30 to DKK 40 - every 4 to 6 minutes by day and all night, so a 02:00 landing does not mean a taxi.
- Buy before you board. There are no ticket barriers, inspectors are frequent, and the fine is around DKK 1,000.
- The blue Rejsekort card is gone, switched off through May and June 2026 with the check-in posts removed. Use the Rejsekort or Rejsebillet app, or a machine in the terminal.
- A taxi is DKK 250 to DKK 350 from the rank outside Terminal 3, metered and taking cards.
- The train to Sweden leaves from the same airport station, 20 minutes to Malmo, with Swedish border checks.

- The metro station is at the end of Terminal 3, a five-minute walk from arrivals, signposted and level.
- It runs 24 hours a day. A 02:00 landing does not mean a taxi.
- The airport is in zone 4 and a ticket covering it and central Copenhagen is a three-zone fare.
- Buy before you board. There are no ticket barriers, inspectors are frequent, and "I could not work out the machine" is not a defence - the fine is around DKK 1,000.
- The train to Sweden goes from the same airport station, 20 minutes to Malmo, and Swedish border checks apply.
Tickets, in the new system
- The blue Rejsekort card is gone. It was switched off in stages through May and June 2026 and the check-in posts have been removed.
- Use the Rejsekort app or the Rejsebillet app to buy a single ticket, or the ticket machines in the terminal.
- A physical Basiskort exists for people who would rather not use a phone, and it can be picked up and topped up like the old card.
- The DSB app is the one for long-distance trains to Aarhus, Odense and Aalborg.
- A City Pass covers unlimited travel for 24 to 120 hours across the zones you need, including the airport, and is bought in the same apps.
The other airports
- Billund (BLL), for Legoland and much of Jutland, has coaches to Aarhus and Vejle and no train.
- Aarhus (AAR) is 40 km from Aarhus with an airport bus that meets flights.
- Malmo (MMX) and Gothenburg are marketed to Copenhagen visitors and are in another country. Factor in the bridge and the border check.
- Copenhagen has left luggage in Terminal 3 if you land early and cannot check in.
