Aalborg (AAL): there is a train station at the airport

Aalborg Lufthavn station is a short walk from the terminal and the ride into the city is about eleven minutes. Buses run several times an hour on the same kind of fare.

  • The airport has its own railway station, Aalborg Lufthavn, a few hundred metres from the main entrance.
  • The train into Aalborg takes about 11 minutes.
  • Buses run several times an hour, and the airport counts more than 100 departures a day on weekdays across bus and train together.
  • An adult single is from 24 DKK for two zones with Nordjyllands Trafikselskab, valid 60 minutes.
  • Children and passengers on the 67 plus fare pay from 12 DKK.
  • With a Rejsekort the base fare starts from 23 DKK, varying by customer type, discount step and time of day.
  • NT always charges for a minimum of two zones, so there is no cheaper one zone hop.
  • Buy in the RejseBillet app, use Rejsekort as an app, or use a machine. Cash works on every NT bus except Plusbus, and cards work on Aalborg city, express and regional buses.
  • A paying adult may take up to two children under 12 free, and bicycles ride free on NT buses when there is room, two per bus.
  • Bring ID. NT requires a valid ticket and identification at inspection.

The train

  • Aalborg Lufthavn station is close enough to walk, a few hundred metres between the platform and check-in. The airport's own page makes a point of this.
  • The ride into the city is about 11 minutes, which makes the train the fastest way in.
  • Coming from the south you can ride straight through to the airport without changing in Aalborg.
  • Fares work on the North Jutland zone system. You pay for a minimum of two zones, so a short adult journey starts at about 24 DKK.

The bus

  • Buses leave several times an hour from the airport bus station.
  • Route 70 runs to the centre, dropping you a short walk from the main square.
  • The bus fare is the same zone fare as the train, and one published figure for the exact airport to centre hop is 18.30 DKK.
