Stockholm Skavsta Airport (NYO) to Stockholm
The coach to Cityterminalen is 229 SEK and takes about 80 minutes; the ticket is valid on any departure for three months.
- Skavsta is about 100 km southwest of Stockholm, beside Nykoping. Ryanair and Wizz Air sell it as Stockholm; the coach takes about 80 minutes.
- The coach is 229 SEK for an adult one way with Flygbussarna, into Cityterminalen next to Stockholm Central.
- Your ticket is not tied to a departure. It is valid on any bus on that route for three months, so a delayed flight does not cost you the fare.
- There is no cash on board. Buy online or in the app, at a desk, or by card on the bus.
- This is not Arlanda. Stockholm's main airport (ARN) has the Arlanda Express and is 40 km north of the city - the opposite side, and a different journey entirely.
Where the airport actually is
Skavsta is a converted air force field beside Nykoping, about 100 km southwest of Stockholm. It has no railway station of its own; the airport coach is the connection everyone uses.
The coach
Flygbussarna runs the route to Cityterminalen, the coach station attached to Stockholm Central, in roughly 80 minutes. An adult single is 229 SEK, and the cheapest way to buy is online or in the app rather than at the airport.
The ticket rule is unusually forgiving and worth knowing: it is valid for any departure on the route within three months, not for one named bus. If your flight is late, you simply take the next coach. Payment on board is by card only - no cash.
Do not confuse it with Arlanda
Stockholm's principal airport is Arlanda (ARN), 40 km north of the city, with the Arlanda Express train into Central in about twenty minutes. If your onward booking or your hotel instructions mention the Arlanda Express, they were not written for this airport.
