Batam Hang Nadim (BTH): the Trans Batam bus, new since June 2026
Trans Batam corridor 7 began serving the airport on 29 June 2026 at 5,000 rupiah, linking Nongsa, the airport and Batam Center.
- Trans Batam corridor 7 began calling at the airport on 29 June 2026.
- The route runs Nongsa to Hang Nadim to Batam Center, and back.
- The fare is 5,000 rupiah for adults and 2,500 for students and children.
- Headway is about 20 minutes in the morning peak and about 30 minutes through the middle of the day.
- Payment is cashless, though staff help passengers without a card.
- The buses take about 40 passengers and are wheelchair accessible.
- Corridor 7 connects onwards to Nagoya and Jodoh, the main commercial districts, and to the Sekupang ferry terminal.
- Batam Center is the ferry terminal for Singapore and Johor, which is why that end of the route matters.
- Any guide written before mid 2026 says the airport has no city bus. That changed in June.
- DAMRI also runs, at a reported 30,000 to 35,000 rupiah.
The bus is new
- Trans Batam's corridor 7 started serving Hang Nadim on 29 June 2026, in trial operation, with full service from 2 July.
- The route is Nongsa to Hang Nadim International Airport to Batam Center, in both directions.
- The fare is 5,000 rupiah, or 2,500 for students and children.
- Headway is about 20 minutes in the morning peak and 30 minutes in the middle of the day and evening.
- Payment is cashless. Staff help passengers who do not have a card.
- Before this, Batam's airport had no city bus. Anything written earlier tells you to take a taxi.
Where corridor 7 gets you
- Batam Center is the ferry terminal for Singapore and for Johor Bahru. For a great many people Batam is a transit point rather than a destination, and this is the connection that matters.
- Nagoya and Jodoh are the main commercial and hotel districts, reached by connecting corridors.
- Sekupang is the other ferry terminal, also integrated into the network.
The alternatives
- DAMRI runs an airport bus at a reported 30,000 to 35,000 rupiah, six or seven times the Trans Batam fare.
- Conventional taxis and app based cars both operate from the terminal.
- For anyone heading straight for a ferry, the 5,000 rupiah bus to Batam Center is now the obvious choice if the timing works.
