The airport is 9 to 12 km out. An air conditioned BRTS route runs into the west of the city for 50 rupees. The metro is planned, not built.

The airport is 9 to 12 km from central Ahmedabad, 25 to 35 minutes by road.
That is unusually close for a major Indian airport, and it keeps every fare down.
Terminal 1 is domestic and terminal 2 international, with a free shuttle between them.
An air conditioned electric BRTS bus serves the airport, running since 18 October 2021.
It costs 50 rupees and runs 06:00 to 23:00 every 15 to 30 minutes.
It calls at the RTO circle, Sola cross road, Memnagar, ISRO, Ramdevnagar and ISKCON cross road.
It picks up near the arrival gate and sets down near departures.
Ordinary AMTS and BRTS city routes also serve the airport circle at 10 to 30 rupees.
Auto rickshaws are metered and run on CNG, about 80 to 200 rupees into the city.
There is no metro station at the airport. A spur is proposed but not built.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International is 9 to 12 km from the middle of Ahmedabad.
The drive is 25 to 35 minutes depending on traffic.
That closeness is the main fact about getting into town here. Nothing is expensive and nothing takes long.

The route runs by way of the RTO circle, Sola cross road, Memnagar, Jodhpur char rasta, Star Bazar, ISRO and Ramdevnagar to ISKCON cross road.
Pick it up near the arrival gate; going out, it sets down near departures.
It takes cash, Janmitra cards and digital payment.

Ordinary BRTS and AMTS routes call at the Sardar Patel Airport Circle, which is a feeder stop rather than a terminal stand.
Fares on those run 10 to 30 rupees.
From the circle you still need an auto for the last stretch to T1 or T2, so they are for the budget conscious rather than the hurried.

Auto rickshaws run on CNG and are metered. Into the city centre expect roughly 80 to 200 rupees depending on distance.
Prepaid taxi counters sit in the arrivals areas of both terminals, with fixed sedan fares within Ahmedabad reported in the 280 to 700 rupee band.
Ola and Uber both operate, from a marked lane on the access road.

The Ahmedabad metro does not reach the airport.
A spur has been proposed, running from Koteshwar Road and going underground to end inside the airport, but it has no confirmed timetable.
Anything that tells you to take the metro to this airport is describing a plan, not a service.
