Clermont-Ferrand Airport (CFE) to the city
City bus 20 costs 1.60 EUR and takes 30 to 40 minutes; a railway station five minutes from the terminal does the same run in 10.
- Line 20 is an ordinary city bus and costs 1.60 EUR, valid on the whole T2C network.
- It reaches the centre in 30 to 40 minutes, every day of the week.
- The Airport stop is 3 minutes from the terminal.
- There is also a railway station 5 minutes away on foot, joined to the terminal by a path.
- The train does the same journey in 10 minutes on line 6, for about 1.90 EUR.
- Buying from the driver costs 2.00 EUR instead of 1.60 EUR, so use a machine.
Bus or train
| Option | Fare | Time |
|---|---|---|
| City bus line 20 | 1.60 EUR | 30 to 40 minutes |
| Train, line 6 | about 1.90 EUR | 10 minutes |
- The train is three times faster for thirty cents more. That is the finding at Clermont, and the airport's own page says so.
- The station is a five minute walk from the terminal along a footpath, so no shuttle is involved.
- The airport lists the train fare as indicative, so treat 1.90 EUR as approximate.
The bus fares
- 1.60 EUR from a machine, including the 0.20 EUR contactless ticket on the first purchase.
- 2.00 EUR from the driver.
- Two journeys 3.00 EUR, ten journeys 15.00 EUR, all from machines.
- The ticket works across the whole T2C network, so a connecting tram or bus in the city is included in the same journey.
The distance
- The airport is 6 km east of Clermont-Ferrand, about 10 minutes' drive, which is why the bus can be a city fare rather than an airport one.
