Grenoble Airport (GNB) to the city and the resorts
The shuttle to Grenoble city centre takes 40 minutes. Most passengers change at the bus station for the ski resorts rather than going into Grenoble.
- The airport is at Saint Etienne de Saint Geoirs, about 40 km from Grenoble, not on its edge.
- A direct shuttle links the terminal with Grenoble Centre railway station in 40 minutes.
- Most winter passengers are not going to Grenoble at all but to Alpe d Huez, Les Deux Alpes and the other resorts.
- Transaltitude runs the resort coaches, and they are booked separately from the airport shuttle.
- Resort coaches need booking, especially at weekends in season.
- Neither the airport nor the shuttle operator publishes a city fare on the pages the airport links to.
Where you actually are
- Grenoble Airport is at Saint Etienne de Saint Geoirs, out in the Isere countryside, roughly 40 km north west of the city.
- The shuttle into Grenoble Centre takes 40 minutes. There is no train and no metro.
- In winter the airport exists for the ski resorts, and the traffic reflects it.
The resort coaches
- Transaltitude operates the mountain services from the airport and from Grenoble bus station towards Alpe d Huez, Les Deux Alpes and the Alpe du Grand Serre.
- They are a separate booking from the city shuttle.
- Tickets are also sold at the Oura information and ticketing office inside Grenoble SNCF station, open daily from 07:00 to 19:30.
- Book ahead in season. A Saturday in February is not the day to improvise.
Fares
- The airport does not publish a shuttle fare on its access page, so buy from the operator when you book.
