Strasbourg Airport (SXB) to the city

The TER shuttle train reaches Strasbourg station in 8 minutes, up to five times an hour, for 3.20 EUR, with a combined tram ticket for a little more.

  • The train takes 8 minutes to Strasbourg station.
  • Up to five trains an hour, and up to 61 return trips a day.
  • A TER only ticket is 3.20 EUR one way, sold on the station platform.
  • A combined ticket adds the city tram and bus. The airport prices it at 4.60 EUR, SNCF at 4.90 EUR on its own page, so expect one of the two.
  • The combined ticket is valid 24 hours for unlimited travel in the Eurometropole, in the airport's description.
  • The CTS app sells immediate departure tickets from 1.90 EUR, covering TER, tram and bus.

The train

  • Eight minutes to Strasbourg station, which is as good as any airport rail link in France.
  • Up to five trains an hour, every 20 minutes off peak and every 5 to 10 minutes at busy times.
  • The station is beside the terminal, reached on foot.

The tickets, and one discrepancy

Strasbourg Airport (SXB) to the city
TicketPrice
TER only, airport to Strasbourg station3.20 EUR one way
TER plus tram and bus4.60 EUR (airport) or 4.90 EUR (SNCF)
CTS app, immediate departurefrom 1.90 EUR
  • The two official sources disagree on the combined ticket. The airport's page says 4.60 EUR and describes 24 hours of unlimited travel; SNCF's TER Grand Est page says 4.90 EUR and says the tram and bus part is good for 1 hour 30 after purchase.
  • Treat 4.90 EUR as the figure to have ready and check the machine, since the SNCF page is the one that sells it.
  • The app fare from 1.90 EUR is the cheapest route if you are boarding immediately.

One bonus

  • Car parks P2 and P3 at the airport are free for the day to TER users, which is a genuine perk for anyone driving to the train rather than the plane.
