Pau (PUF): the IDELIS shuttle does not run on Sundays or holidays
Line 17 links the airport with central Pau about once an hour for 1.20 to 1.50 euro, Monday to Saturday only. On a Sunday the same journey is a 45 euro taxi.
IDELIS line 17 links the airport with the centre of Pau.
It does not run on Sundays or public holidays. The airport says so plainly.
Departures from the airport run 06:50 to 22:40 Monday to Friday and 07:05 to 22:40 on Saturdays, about one an hour.
Departures from the centre, stop "Pau Bosquet - Quai C", run 06:16 to 22:00 weekdays and 06:32 to 22:00 on Saturdays.
The journey takes about 30 minutes.
The fare is 1.50 euro on board, or 1.20 euro bought in advance from an Idelis agency, a relay shop or the online shop.
The stop is the IDELIS one on the platform to the right as you leave the terminal.
The current timetable covers 31 August 2026 to 3 July 2027.
A taxi to central Pau or Pau station is 35 euro between 07:00 and 19:00, and 45 euro at night, on Sundays and on public holidays.
The airport reminds you to book a taxi in advance at weekends and on public holidays. With no bus on Sunday, that is not optional advice.
Longer taxi runs are 120 euro by day and 150 euro at night, varying with distance, destination and party size.

The shuttle, and the days it does not run
IDELIS line 17 connects Pau Pyrenees Airport with the centre of Pau.
It does not operate on Sundays or public holidays. That single fact decides how a Sunday arrival gets into town.

Fares vary with distance, destination and the number of passengers.
The airport asks you to book a taxi in advance at weekends and on public holidays. Given that the shuttle is not running then, treat that as a requirement rather than a suggestion.

By car
From Toulouse, Tarbes or Lourdes: A64, exit 9, then follow signs for the airport.
From Bordeaux, Bayonne or Lacq: A64 exit 9, then the N117 towards Pau-Denguin and the D509.
From central Pau: the route is signposted, via the D834 then the D716.
Ski resort transfers are bookable through Altibus, which matters here: Gourette, Artouste and La Pierre-Saint-Martin are all about an hour away.
