Murcia Airport (RMU) to Murcia, Cartagena and the coast
The Interbus run to Murcia or Cartagena costs 1.85 EUR, which for a 30 km airport transfer is close to a rounding error.
- A single is 1.85 EUR, to Murcia or to Cartagena, which is remarkable for an airport 30 km from either.
- Interbus runs to San Andres bus station in Murcia and, separately, to Cartagena bus station, seven days a week.
- On the Cartagena corridor there are 8 departures a day to the airport and 7 back.
- A coastal Airportbus route serves Aguilas, Mazarron, San Juan de los Terreros, Torrevieja and La Manga.
- That coastal run is the reason not to book a transfer. Most arrivals here are going to the coast, not to Murcia.
- The airport is at Corvera, roughly between the two cities, which is why neither is the default.
- Aena does not publish frequencies and tells passengers to confirm with the operator.
- Confirm before you land. With two operators and a thin timetable, this is not an airport to improvise at.
What the bus costs
| Journey | Price |
|---|---|
| Single, airport to Murcia or Cartagena | 1.85 EUR |
- 1.85 EUR for a 30 km run is the cheapest airport transfer of any airport on this site, and it is a regional government subsidised service rather than a promotion.
- The Cartagena corridor runs eight departures to the airport and seven back, seven days a week, leaving Cartagena at 07:15, 09:00, 11:15, 13:15, 15:00, 17:15, 19:15 and 20:45, and the airport at 10:00, 12:15, 14:15, 16:15, 18:00, 20:00 and 21:30.
- Buy from the operator online or from the driver.
Two cities, one airport
- Interbus runs to San Andres bus station in Murcia and, on a separate route, to Cartagena bus station.
- The airport is at Corvera, between them, which is why neither city is the obvious default.
The coast
- A coastal Airportbus route serves Aguilas, Mazarron, San Juan de los Terreros, Torrevieja and La Manga.
- That is the run most arrivals actually want, and it is the reason to check the timetable rather than book a private transfer.
Planning
- Aena does not publish frequencies and refers passengers to the operators.
- With two operators and a thin timetable, confirm before you land.
