Reus Airport (REU) to Barcelona and Tarragona
The Barcelona coach is now run by Monbus, about EUR 17.60 one way, and takes an hour and a half.
- The operator changed in 2024. The Barcelona coach used to be Hispano Igualadina and is now Monbus - if you are looking for a desk or a website under the old name, that is why you cannot find it.
- Reckon on about an hour and a half to Barcelona, longer in traffic. Monbus publishes the fare on its own site; buy there rather than from a transfer reseller.
- Departures are tied to Ryanair's schedule, not to a clock, so a delayed flight does not strand you.
- Buy at the desk inside the terminal or from the driver. Both work; the desk is quicker if the queue at the door is long.
- Reus is not a Barcelona airport. Barcelona has El Prat (BCN), 15 minutes from the city by train. Reus is 110 km away, in Tarragona province.
Where the airport actually is
Reus sits on the Costa Daurada, in the province of Tarragona, about 110 km southwest of Barcelona. It is a genuinely convenient airport for Salou, Cambrils and PortAventura, and a long way from everything Barcelona.
The Barcelona coach
The direct coach is run by Monbus, which took the route over from Hispano Igualadina in 2024. That handover is worth knowing because a great deal of the advice still online sends you looking for the old operator.
- Journey: about 1 hour 30 minutes, and up to two hours if the coastal motorway is busy.
- Departures coincide with Ryanair arrivals and departures, so the timetable follows the flights rather than the hour.
- The fare is on Monbus's own site. It is not quoted here because the operator's page renders in JavaScript and every figure in circulation comes from a transfer reseller with a reason to make the coach look dear.
Tickets are sold at the counter inside the terminal and on board from the driver.
Tarragona and the coast
If the Costa Daurada is where you are actually going, the airport is close to it, and local buses and taxis into Reus town and Tarragona cost a fraction of the Barcelona run. Tarragona's railway station also puts you on the main line north to Barcelona if the coach times do not suit.
