Belfast International Airport (BFS) to Belfast

The Airport Express 300 is the direct coach into Belfast, and a separate 2.20 GBP Airlink ticket connects rail passengers from the north on bus 109A.

  • The Airport Express 300 is the direct bus between the airport and Belfast city centre, run by Translink.
  • Arriving by train from the north, the Airlink ticket is 2.20 GBP and connects you to the 109A bus for the airport.
  • That Airlink ticket is sold by train conductors, by the 109A driver, at the Translink machine in the airport and at the Visit Belfast desk.
  • Anyone aged 16 or over pays an adult fare on the 300.
  • Children must be able to prove their age with a Proof of Age Card if the driver asks.
  • Refunds are not free: 20 percent of the refund value, minimum 1.50 GBP and maximum 5.00 GBP.

Two different journeys

  • From Belfast itself, the Airport Express 300 is the service, running between the terminal and the city centre.
  • From the north of Northern Ireland, the train plus the 109A bus is the combination, and the Airlink ticket at 2.20 GBP is what joins them.
  • The Airlink is an add on, not a full fare. It covers the bus leg for passengers already holding a rail ticket from north of Antrim.

The rules on the 300

  • Sixteen is an adult here. Many operators use 15; Translink charges an adult fare from 16.
  • Concession fares bought online must be provable. The driver can ask for a Proof of Age Card.
  • Refunds carry a charge: 20 percent of the value refunded, with a floor of 1.50 GBP and a ceiling of 5.00 GBP.

Which Belfast airport

  • This is the one out at Aldergrove, roughly 30 km from the city, and the one Ryanair and Wizz use.
  • Belfast City Airport is a different place, much closer in, with its own connections. Do not plan one journey using the other's timetable.
