Airlink 100 is 6.00 GBP and the tram 7.90 GBP, but services 17 and 18 reach the airport on the ordinary 2.40 GBP city single.

Services 17 and 18 now serve the airport at the ordinary city fare, which is 2.40 GBP for an adult and 1.20 GBP for a child.
Airlink 100 is 6.00 GBP single and 8.50 GBP open return, running 24 hours a day.
The tram is 7.90 GBP single and 9.50 GBP open return, or 40p less booked online.
A tram journey inside the city costs 2.40 GBP. The airport stop more than triples it.
The Lothian day ticket at 6.00 GBP is not valid on Airlink, and not valid on the tram to the airport either.
Children are 3.00 GBP on Airlink and 4.00 GBP on the tram, and a family Airlink return is 22.00 GBP.

This changed recently and most guides have not caught up. The old Skylink 200 and 400 became services 17 and 18 on the city network, and the city fare is now valid to and from the airport on them.
They are slower than the Airlink, which is the trade. Service 17 runs to Ocean Terminal and 18 to Fort Kinnaird, so check whether either passes your hotel before paying three times as much.
Airlink is the 24 hour option, which matters for a 5am departure or a midnight arrival.
The tram is the one that goes to Princes Street and on to Newhaven, and it is the most expensive.

Day and Late tickets are not valid on Airlink. Buying a 6.00 GBP day ticket does not get you to the airport on the express bus.
The tram city single at 2.40 GBP is not valid to the airport, which is a separate fare zone.
The 40p online saving on tram airport tickets is small but free.
Family Airlink return at 22.00 GBP covers up to two adults and three children, which beats five separate returns.
