East Midlands Airport (EMA) to Nottingham, Derby and Leicester
A skylink single into Nottingham is 3.00 GBP, an anytime return 6.00 GBP and a family anytime return 12.00 GBP, on a bus that runs every 20 minutes around the clock.
- A single into Nottingham is 3.00 GBP, an anytime return 6.00 GBP, and a family anytime return covering up to two adults and three children is 12.00 GBP.
- With trentbarton's MANGO stored value card the same trip is 2.25 GBP.
- skylink Nottingham runs every 20 minutes and operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- A 24 hour airport bus is rare in Britain, and it is the reason East Midlands is usable at any hour.
- skylink also serves Derby, Leicester and Loughborough, on separate branded routes.
- The airport sits at Castle Donington, between the three cities, so no city is the obvious default.
- There is no railway station at the airport. East Midlands Parkway is the nearest and needs a bus.
- Buses use the coach station next to the terminal, and you check which skylink you want before boarding.
What the bus costs
| Ticket | Price |
|---|---|
| Single, airport to Nottingham | 3.00 GBP |
| Same trip paid with MANGO | 2.25 GBP |
| Anytime return | 6.00 GBP |
| Family anytime return, up to 2 adults and 3 children | 12.00 GBP |
- Two adults are better off with two singles than one family return unless children are travelling too.
- MANGO is trentbarton's stored value card. It is worth the trouble only if you are staying a while and will use the buses again.
The 24 hour service
- skylink Nottingham runs every 20 minutes in the day and hourly at night, seven days a week, all year.
- A skylink Express runs to Trent Bridge and central Nottingham every half hour, roughly 04:00 to 23:00.
- Derby, Leicester and Loughborough have their own skylink branches, running about every 15 minutes in the day and hourly at night.
Where the bus goes from
- The coach station next to the terminal building. All the buses arrive and leave there.
- Read the destination before boarding. The skylinks are different routes to different cities and share the same stand.
No station
- The airport has no railway station. East Midlands Parkway is the closest and still needs a bus, so the skylink is the connection to everything.
