A regular bus service runs Monday to Saturday, operated by B Mundell. There is no Sunday service in HIAL's description, and two car hire firms work from the terminal.

- A car is the usual choice on Islay. The distilleries are spread along the south coast, around Loch Indaal and up at Bunnahabhain and Caol Ila, and no bus timetable joins them conveniently.
- Book far ahead for the Feis Ile whisky festival at the end of May, when the island is full.
