Cornwall Airport Newquay (NQY) to Newquay and Cornwall
Every single bus fare in Cornwall is capped at 3.00 GBP, falling to 2.00 GBP on 1 January 2027, so the ride from the airport into Newquay or out to Truro costs that at most. An all Cornwall day ticket is 10.00 GBP.
- A single costs no more than 3.00 GBP anywhere in Cornwall under the national fare cap, and the cap drops to 2.00 GBP from 1 January 2027.
- An all Cornwall day ticket is 10.00 GBP, a town zone day ticket 7.00 GBP, and an all Cornwall week ticket 40.00 GBP.
- Pay on the bus with cash or contactless, or buy in the Transport for Cornwall app.
- There is no dedicated airport bus. Two ordinary Cornwall routes call here.
- Service 56 runs Newquay to Padstow via Watergate Bay and the airport.
- Service 94 runs Wadebridge to Truro through the airport, St Columb Major, Fraddon, Summercourt, Ladock and Tresillian.
- The stop is between the terminal and the west car park, not at the door.
- Truro on the 94 is the main line rail connection, which matters more than Newquay for onward travel.
What the bus costs
| Ticket | Price |
|---|---|
| Any single journey in Cornwall | 3.00 GBP maximum |
| Any single from 1 January 2027 | 2.00 GBP maximum |
| Day ticket, all Cornwall | 10.00 GBP |
| Day ticket, town zone | 7.00 GBP |
| Week ticket, all Cornwall | 40.00 GBP |
| Week ticket, town zone | 28.00 GBP |
- The 3.00 GBP figure is a cap, not a fare. Short hops are cheaper. It is funded by central government and runs to the end of 2026.
- From 1 January 2027 the cap falls to 2.00 GBP across England outside London, announced in July 2026 and funded to the end of that year.
- The day ticket pays for itself on the second single, which makes it the obvious buy if you are heading to Truro and back, or exploring the north coast.
- Cash or contactless on the bus, or the Transport for Cornwall app.
Two routes, no airport express
- Service 56, Newquay to Padstow, calls at the airport via Watergate Bay and Constantine.
- Service 94, Wadebridge to Truro, runs through the airport, St Columb Major, Fraddon, Summercourt, Ladock and Tresillian.
- Neither is timed to flights. Check the timetable against your arrival before you count on it.
Finding the stop
- It is between the terminal and the west car park. Not at the terminal door, but a short walk.
Onward by rail
- Truro is the main line station, on the London Paddington to Penzance route, and the 94 gets you there.
- The Newquay branch line to Par is improving, going from every two hours to hourly.
