Alghero Airport (AHO) to Alghero, Sassari and the coast

Buses leave from a stop 150 metres right of arrivals for Alghero, Sassari, Bosa and, in summer, Stintino and Santa Teresa Gallura. A separate coach crosses to Olbia Airport by reservation only.

  • All bus stops are outside on the right, about 150 metres from the arrivals entrance.
  • Alghero is about 10 km away and Sassari about 33 km, both served all year by ARST.
  • The Alghero urban line ends at Via Catalogna, on the edge of the old town.
  • There are also year round buses to Bosa, and seasonal ones to Stintino and Santa Teresa Gallura between 1 June and 30 September.
  • A coach runs airport to airport, Alghero to Olbia, but rides are by reservation only and are not a walk up service.
  • ARST does not publish its fares on the pages the airport links to. There is a ticket machine in the terminal hall.

The stop, and what leaves from it

  • One stop serves everything, outside the terminal on the right hand side, roughly 150 metres from the arrivals entrance.
  • ARST runs the year round services: the urban line into Alghero, the extra urban line to Sassari and another to Bosa.
  • The Alghero line ends at Via Catalogna, which puts you beside the seafront and the old town rather than at a bus station on the outskirts.
  • Summer adds the coast: Stintino and Santa Teresa Gallura are served by seasonal operators from 1 June to 30 September.

The airport to airport coach

  • Sun Lines runs between Alghero Airport and Olbia Airport, which is the useful option nobody expects to exist.
  • Rides are by reservation only and tickets are bought on board, so turning up and hoping is not a plan.
  • This matters for island itineraries: flying into one Sardinian airport and out of the other is possible without hiring a car, provided you book the link in advance.

Tickets

  • There is an automatic ticket machine in the terminal hall, for ARST services only.
  • ARST sells from its own desks in Alghero at Via Catalogna and in Sassari at Via Padre Zirano.
  • Fares are not published on the pages the airport points to. Winter timetables also change, so confirm both before travelling.
