Milan Linate Airport (LIN) to the city

The blue line runs from the terminal to central Milan in 12 minutes, meets all three other metro lines, and every station is step-free.

Metro line M4, the blue line, terminates at Linate Airport.
Twelve minutes from the centre to the airport. End to end, San Cristoforo to Linate, is about half an hour.
21 stops over 15 kilometres.
It meets the rest of the network at six stations: San Cristoforo (S9 and regional trains), Sant'Ambrogio (M2, green), Sforza Policlinico (M3, yellow, at Missori), San Babila (M1, red), and Dateo and Forlanini (suburban S lines).
San Babila is the one for the Duomo - one stop further on the red line.
Every M4 station has lifts and escalators, so the whole route is step-free.
Service runs daily from early morning until 00:30.
After that the NM4 night bus replaces the trains between Linate, San Cristoforo and Molinetto di Lorenteggio.
You can pay contactless as you go.

Linate used to be the airport you reached by bus. It is now twelve minutes from the middle of Milan on the metro.
M4, the blue line, runs from San Cristoforo in the west to Linate Airport in the east, 21 stops over 15 kilometres, with the airport as the terminus.
The whole run takes about half an hour; from the central stations it is twelve minutes.

San Cristoforo: the S9 suburban line and regional trains.
Sant'Ambrogio: the green line, M2.
Sforza Policlinico: the yellow line, M3, at Missori station.
San Babila: the red line, M1. This is the one most visitors want - the Duomo is one stop away on the M1, and San Babila itself is a short walk from the cathedral.
Dateo and Forlanini: the suburban S lines.
Every station connects to bus and tram stops and to the BikeMi bike share.

All M4 stations have lifts and escalators, and the airport-to-city journey is fully step-free. At Sforza Policlinico there is a marked accessible route for the change onto M3.
Service runs every day from early morning to 00:30.
Overnight, NM4 buses replace the trains between Linate, San Cristoforo and Molinetto di Lorenteggio. You can change to NM1 and NM3 at via Visconti di Vimodrone and to NM2 at piazza Sant'Agostino.
Contactless pay-as-you-go works on the ATM network; tap in and tap out.

Linate is the city airport, 8 km east of the centre, and it handles the short-haul and domestic traffic.
Malpensa is 50 km north-west and is the intercontinental one. They are not interchangeable and the transfer between them is over an hour.
Bergamo Orio al Serio is the third, 50 km east, used by the low cost airlines and marketed as "Milan".
If your ticket says Linate, you have the easy one.
