The whole journey costs less than a coffee at the gate
- 1.30 EUR, under ten minutes. The airport has its own railway station and the run into Cagliari is a couple of stops.
- On average every 20 minutes through the day, which is closer to a metro than to an airport shuttle.
- This is the ordinary regional fare, not an airport product, which is exactly why it is so cheap. Compare Rome at 14 EUR or Milan at 15 EUR for the equivalent ride.
The one thing to check
- The last train back to the airport leaves the city at 22:00, more than an hour before the last train out of the airport at 23:07.
- For a departure much after that, plan on a taxi rather than assuming the train mirrors the arrival timetable.
- First departures are 06:03 from the airport and 05:10 from Cagliari, so early flights are covered.
