Treviso Airport (TSF) to Venice

ATVO charges 12 EUR to Piazzale Roma and Barzi 10 EUR to Tronchetto, and where they drop you matters more than the two euros.

  • Treviso is about 40 km from Venice. Venice's own airport is Marco Polo (VCE), much closer and with a water connection; Treviso is the low-cost one inland.
  • ATVO runs to Piazzale Roma for 12 EUR single, 22 EUR return, luggage included, calling at Mestre station on the way.
  • Barzi runs to Tronchetto for 10 EUR single, 18 EUR return, under-10s free, bought on board without a surcharge.
  • Two euros is not the decision. Piazzale Roma is the road head of Venice itself; Tronchetto is the car park island one People Mover ride further out.
  • Mestre station is the stop to use if you are travelling on by train - it is the mainland station where the fast services actually stop.

Where the airport actually is

Treviso, formally Antonio Canova Airport, is about 40 km north of Venice. Ryanair and Wizz Air sell it as Venice. Venice's principal airport is Marco Polo (VCE), on the lagoon edge with boat services into the city; nothing at Treviso reaches the water.

The two coach companies

This is the decision to make before you buy:

ATVOPiazzale Roma, via Mestre station12.00 EUR22.00 EUR
BarziTronchetto, via Mestre station10.00 EUR18.00 EUR

ATVO includes unlimited luggage in the fare, hold bags and cabin bags alike, and sells groups of ten or more at 10.00 EUR a head single and 18.00 EUR return. Since the route 351 timetable came in, it reaches Mestre in about 30 minutes and Venice in about 40.

Barzi charges 10.00 EUR one way and 18.00 EUR return, children under 10 travel free, and you can buy on board with no surcharge. Same 30 minutes to Mestre, 40 to Venice.

Where they drop you

Piazzale Roma is where Venice's roads end and the vaporetto lines begin; it is walking distance from Santa Lucia station and the start of most hotel directions. Tronchetto is the car park island next door, connected to Piazzale Roma by the People Mover, which is a further ticket and a further wait.

Two euros of difference does not pay for that extra leg with luggage. Take ATVO unless your hotel is genuinely closer to Tronchetto, or unless the Barzi departure is the one that fits your flight.

If you are going onward by train

Both coaches call at Venezia Mestre railway station, on the mainland, which is where the fast services actually stop. Get off there rather than riding into Piazzale Roma and doubling back.
