Bari Karol Wojtyla Airport (BRI) to the city
Ferrotramviaria runs from under the terminal to Bari Centrale for 5.30 EUR. Every neighbouring station on the same line costs 1.30 EUR.
- The train to Bari Centrale is 5.30 EUR, on the Ferrotramviaria line that starts at the airport.
- The next stations down the line cost 1.30 EUR from Bari: Palese, Macchie, Europa, Fesca San Girolamo.
- The airport is priced as a separate fare band, not by distance, so the four euro gap is the airport surcharge.
- Going north instead of into Bari costs 5.30 EUR to Bitonto and 5.80 EUR to Terlizzi.
- These are the fares in force from 1 April 2026, published by the operator.
- The line is Ferrotramviaria, not Trenitalia, so a Trenitalia regional ticket is not valid on it.
The fare band, and why it matters
| Journey | Single |
|---|---|
| Bari Centrale to Aeroporto | 5.30 EUR |
| Bari Centrale to Palese (the next station) | 1.30 EUR |
| Bari Centrale to Bitonto | 1.30 EUR |
| Aeroporto to Bitonto | 5.30 EUR |
| Aeroporto to Terlizzi | 5.80 EUR |
- Distance is not what you are paying for. Palese station is a short way from the terminal and costs a quarter of the airport fare, and Bitonto costs 1.30 EUR from Bari but 5.30 EUR from the airport.
- Anything that starts or ends at the airport carries the airport price, in both directions and to every station on the network.
- If someone can collect you from Palese, the fare drops to 1.30 EUR. That is the whole trick, and it is the only one available on this line.
Practicalities
- The operator is Ferrotramviaria, the Ferrovie del Nord Barese, and its trains run on their own line into Bari Centrale.
- A Trenitalia ticket does not work here, and neither does a Trenitalia regional pass.
- The fares above are the tariff in force from 1 April 2026, taken from the operator's published table rather than a booking screen.
