Getting from Rimini Federico Fellini Airport to the city

Line 9, and where it actually stops

Start Romagna runs the airport connection as ordinary city line 9, and its stop is outside the main Departures door rather than at Arrivals, which is the one thing worth knowing before you walk out of the building.

• Rimini railway station in about 25 minutes, traffic allowing.
• The line runs the length of the coast, from Santarcangelo through Rimini Fiera and the station down past Fiabilandia to the airport, so it is a city bus rather than an airport service.

• Buy before boarding. The machine at the airport takes cash or card, and the driver charges a surcharge for the same journey.
• A single area covers airport to city. You only need the two-area ticket if you carry on towards Riccione.

The evening direct

Between 30 March and 14 September 2026 there is a late shuttle on line 9 that skips almost everything: three stops only, Rimini FS, Via Cavalieri di Vittorio Veneto and the airport.

• From the airport at 21:00, 22:00 and 23:20, reaching Rimini FS eighteen minutes later.
• From Rimini FS at 21:30 and 22:30.
• It takes the same one-area ticket as the ordinary line 9.

San Marino is two legs, not one

This is the trap for anyone flying in for San Marino: the coach does not call at the airport.

• Bonelli Bus runs Rimini to San Marino, and it leaves from Rimini railway station.
• 7.00 EUR one way, bought online, at an agency or from the driver subject to space.
• Just under an hour, arriving at Borgo Maggiore below the old town.
• So the whole trip is line 9 to the station, then the coach - budget for the wait between them rather than assuming a connection.

Metromare stops a kilometre short

Metromare is the fast bus line along its own right of way between Rimini and Riccione stations, and one of its stops carries the airport's name.

• It is about 1 km from the terminal on foot. The name promises more than the stop delivers.
• With luggage, line 9 is the sensible choice even though Metromare is quicker between the two stations.

Taxis

• The rank is outside Arrivals.
• About 15 minutes into central Rimini.
• No tariff is published by the local radio taxi service, so agree the basis of the fare before setting off; bookings on +39 0541 50020.

What kind of airport this is

• Rimini is seasonal. Scheduled traffic is thin outside summer and a good deal of it is charter, which is why most visitors to this coast, and to San Marino, arrive through Bologna instead and take the train.
