Genoa Airport (GOA) to the city
Volabus reaches the centre in about 30 minutes, but the ticket you need is the Met Daily 24 hour pass: 10 EUR alone, 30 EUR for four people, and it covers everything AMT runs.

- Met Daily is 10 EUR for one person and 30 EUR for up to four, which makes a family of four cheaper per head than one solo traveller.
- It is valid for 24 hours on the whole AMT network, urban and provincial, from the moment you buy it.
- That includes the Navebus boat, the Genova to Casella railway and line 782 to Portofino, none of which are ordinary city buses.
- So the airport fare is only a transfer fare if you throw the rest away.
What the ticket actually is
- AMT does not sell a Volabus ticket any more. Travelling on the airport coach requires a Met Daily 24 hour ticket, and that ticket is a network pass.
- 10 EUR for one person, 30 EUR for four, bought through the AMT app or the ILA system and valid immediately.
- Twenty four hours from purchase, on the whole urban and provincial network.
- The unusual inclusions are the point: the Navebus harbour boat, the Genova to Casella narrow gauge railway up into the hills, and line 782 to Portofino.
How to think about the price
- On its own it is an expensive airport bus. Ten euro for half an hour is not cheap by Italian standards.
- On arrival day it is usually the whole day's transport. If you land in the morning and move around Genoa afterwards, nothing else needs buying.
- Four people pay 30 EUR, not 40 EUR. Groups should always buy the four person version rather than four singles.
The route
- About 30 minutes to the centre, via the main railway stations, so Brignole and Principe are both reachable without a change.
- The airport sits at Sestri Ponente, west of the city along the coast, which is why the run is longer than the map suggests.
