Palermo Airport (PMO) to the city
The train under the terminal is 6.80 EUR and takes about half an hour. The coach takes 50. Taxis are fixed by zone at 39, 44 or 50 EUR.
- The train is 6.80 EUR and the station is on the basement level of the terminal.
- Express trains reach Palermo Centrale in a little over half an hour, stopping only at Notarbartolo.
- The coach takes 50 minutes, runs every 30 minutes and operates all year including holidays.
- The coach operator does not publish a fare, so buy at the airport desk or on board and expect to pay a comparable few euro.
- Taxi fares are fixed by zone: 39 EUR, 44 EUR or 50 EUR, with the station and Brancaccio at the top of that range.
- Shared taxis are 10 EUR a head, but the price only applies once four passengers have gathered.

- The station is inside the building, on the basement level, so the train does not start with a shuttle.
- Two trains an hour in each direction, dropping to one in some periods.
- The Genio express services run Palermo Centrale to the airport with a single stop at Palermo Notarbartolo, which is the half hour figure.
- The coach is the slow way in. Fifty minutes against a little over thirty, for a fare the operator will not put on its website, which is reason enough to take the train unless the coach stop is closer to your bed.
Taxis, and the fixed fares
- The city publishes fixed airport fares by zone, and the airport lists them: 39 EUR to Viale Michelangelo and Viale Lazio, 44 EUR to Corso Calatafimi and Corso Vittorio Emanuele, 50 EUR to Stazione Centrale and Brancaccio.
- Rank taxis operate when flights land. Outside those times you telephone the two cooperatives and wait around 20 minutes.
- Taxi sharing has two marked bays in Arrivals, run by the same two cooperatives.
- The 10 EUR per passenger price is conditional. It applies only when four passengers are found, so a solo traveller at a quiet hour is not getting it.
