Alesund Airport (AES) to the town and the fjords

A one zone FRAM single is 50 kr and two zones 99 kr, with 20 kr added if you buy from the driver.

  • A FRAM single is 50 kr for one zone and 99 kr for two, with children 6 to 17 and concessions at 25 kr and 50 kr. Prices are the 2026 table.
  • Buying on board adds 20 kr for an adult and 10 kr for students and those in military service, so buy in the app first.
  • A one zone single is valid 1 hour 30 minutes, gaining another 1 hour 30 for each extra zone, up to 10 hours.
  • The airport bus reaches Alesund city centre and Moa in about 25 to 45 minutes, run by Vy Buss, via Campus Alesund, Skateflukaia and Alesund bus station.
  • It runs for most major flight departures and arrivals, not to a clock timetable.
  • A second airport bus goes to the express boat quay at Valderoy in about 10 minutes, run by Turvogna.
  • That boat connects to Hareid, on the far side of the fjord.
  • The Valderoy link is the one people miss. It puts the fjord network within ten minutes of the terminal.

  • FRAM prices by the number of zones you cross, counted stop to stop, so the fare depends on where in Alesund you are going.
  • Buying from the driver costs 20 kr more for an adult, 10 kr more for students and those in military service. Buy in the FRAM app or online first.
  • A one zone ticket lasts 1 hour 30 minutes, and each extra zone adds another 1 hour 30, up to a maximum of 10 hours, so a longer ticket is also a longer window.
  • Vy Buss operates the airport coach itself, on its own commercial terms, so check whether a FRAM ticket applies to the service you are boarding.

The two airport buses

  • The main one reaches Alesund city centre and Moa, run by Vy Buss, via Campus Alesund, Skateflukaia and Alesund bus station, in roughly 25 to 45 minutes depending on where you get off.
  • It runs for most major flight departures and arrivals, not to a clock timetable.
  • A second bus goes to the express boat quay at Valderoy in about 10 minutes, run by Turvogna.

Why Valderoy matters

  • That boat connects to Hareid, on the far side of the fjord.
  • It puts the fjord network within ten minutes of the terminal, which is the connection most people miss when they plan this trip by road.
