Mosjøen (MJF): Saturday has two opening windows and a closed gap between them
Mosjøen publishes the most awkward week of the Helgeland airports: open 05:15 to 22:45 on weekdays, but on Saturday only 05:30 to 10:15 and then 13:00 to 16:45, with the terminal shut in between.
- Monday to Friday the terminal is open 05:15 to 22:45.
- Saturday opens twice: 05:30 to 10:15, then 13:00 to 16:45. Between those it is closed.
- Sunday is 11:45 to 22:45. No morning.
- Do not arrive in the Saturday gap. There is nowhere to wait at an airport this size.
- Visiting address: Mosjøen lufthavn, Kjærstad, 8658 Mosjøen.
- Widerøe is the only airline.
- Parking is operated by OnePark, with customer service open 24 hours a day.
- Onward travel is on the Nordland county network, coordinated by Reis Nordland, not on an airport bus.
- Use the journey planner rather than a printed timetable. Only it carries deviations and holidays.
- Bus baggage is one hold bag up to 30 kg plus one 10 kg hand bag of at most 50 x 40 x 30 cm.
- Fresh fish and other organic material may not be carried on the bus or in the hold.
- The travel guarantee excludes ferries, commercial routes and extraordinary weather.
The Saturday gap
- Mosjøen's terminal keeps the most divided week of the Helgeland airports.
- Monday to Friday: 05:15 to 22:45. Saturday: 05:30 to 10:15, then closed, then 13:00 to 16:45. Sunday: 11:45 to 22:45.
- The Saturday middle of the day is genuinely shut. If a connection puts you at Kjærstad between 10:15 and 13:00 on a Saturday, plan to be somewhere else.
The airport
- Mosjøen lufthavn, Kjærstad, 8658 Mosjøen. Widerøe is the only airline.
- Parking is operated by OnePark, whose customer service answers 24 hours a day.
Onward travel
- There is no airport bus. Onward travel is on the Nordland county network coordinated by Reis Nordland.
- Use the journey planner rather than a printed timetable, because only the planner shows deviations and public holidays. Reis Nordland also warns that a ferry shown as delayed may make the time up, so you should still attend at the original scheduled time.
- On county buses and express boats: one hold bag up to 30 kg, one hand bag up to 10 kg at 50 x 40 x 30 cm under the seat, more than 30 kg charged by tariff.
- Fresh fish and other organic material are not permitted in the bus or the hold.
- Electric bicycles are not carried. Ordinary bicycles go free if there is space and the driver agrees.
- The travel guarantee covers necessary alternative transport after a delayed or cancelled bus or express boat, but not ferries, not commercial routes, and not extraordinary weather.
