Mehamn (MEH): two taxi numbers and no bus on Avinor's list
Mehamn sits at the top of the Nordkinn peninsula. Avinor lists two taxi firms and free parking, and no scheduled bus, so the onward leg into Finnmark runs on Snelandia services that often have to be booked.
- Avinor lists two taxi firms: Taxi Mehamn on 913 51 134 and Taxi Kjøllefjord on 78 49 84 77.
- There is no airport bus on Avinor's page. Plan the transfer, do not assume one.
- Parking is free, with all vehicles parked at the owner's own risk.
- Several providers rent cars in Mehamn, which is often the practical answer this far north.
- Parking is operated by OnePark, customer service open 24 hours a day on 64 81 19 80.
- Finnmark's county buses include Fleks routes that run only when booked.
- The Fleks deadline is two hours before the route starts, not two hours before it reaches you.
- For a first morning departure, book by 21:00 the evening before.
- A Fleks vehicle may be a taxi with four seats. Book early if you need a place.
- Luggage space on Fleks is limited, and Snelandia asks you to call ahead if you have a lot.
- Bikes and dogs are not normally carried on Fleks without prior agreement.
- Route enquiries 177, Snelandia customer service 75 77 18 88.
The transfer
- Mehamn is at the northern end of the Nordkinn peninsula, and the airport's ground transport is short to describe.
- Two taxi firms: Taxi Mehamn on 913 51 134, and Taxi Kjøllefjord on 78 49 84 77. Kjøllefjord is the neighbouring settlement, which tells you how thin the local supply is.
- Avinor lists no bus. If you need one, it will be a Snelandia county service rather than an airport link.
Parking and cars
- Free parking, all vehicles at the owner's own risk, run by OnePark with 24 hour customer service on 64 81 19 80.
- Several providers rent cars in Mehamn. Given the distances and the timetable, hiring is often the only way to make a short visit work.
Onward by county bus
- Snelandia's Fleks routes exist to keep a service where a scheduled bus would run empty. They only operate when somebody books.
- Book at least two hours before the route starts, counted from the start point of the route, and by 21:00 the previous evening for a first morning departure.
- The vehicle is normally a taxi or minibus, sometimes with only four seats. Prebooked passengers come first; if there is room the driver may take others.
- Luggage space is limited and bikes and dogs are not normally carried without prior agreement, which matters with hold baggage.
- Route enquiries 177. Customer service 75 77 18 88.
