Sandefjord Airport Torp (TRF) to Oslo
Train plus shuttle takes about 1 hour 45 minutes, and the shuttle is a separate ticket that does not meet every train.
- Torp is not Oslo. Oslo's airport is Gardermoen (OSL), north of the city with its own express train. Torp is about 110 km southwest and the journey takes 1 hour 45 minutes.
- The shuttle bus between Torp station and the terminal is NOT included in your train ticket. It is a separate 35 NOK fare - buy it as well, or you will be short one ticket at the door.
- The shuttle does not meet every train. It runs Monday to Friday from 04:43 to 23:16 and is timed to the train schedule, not to your flight.
- The ride itself is under five minutes - the station is close, it is the Oslo leg that is long.
- Vy runs the train (R11) about once an hour, with more than 20 departures a day between Oslo and Torp.
Where the airport actually is
Sandefjord Airport Torp sits in Vestfold, about 110 km southwest of Oslo. Low-cost airlines sell it as Oslo; Gardermoen (OSL) is the airport that actually serves the capital, on the opposite side of it.
Train and shuttle
The route into Oslo is two tickets, not one:
- The airport shuttle bus between the terminal and Torp station, under five minutes, 35 NOK.
- The Vy R11 train from Torp to Oslo S, about once an hour, with more than twenty departures a day.
Total journey time is around 1 hour 45 minutes.
The point that catches people is stated plainly by the airport itself: the shuttle is not included in the train ticket. A through fare bought online covers the rail leg only. The shuttle also does not meet every train - it runs Monday to Friday between 04:43 and 23:16 and is coordinated with the timetable rather than with arrivals, so check both before you assume a late flight connects.
