Forde (FDE): the bus leaves town an hour before your flight
The airport bus runs in connection with arrivals and departures rather than to a clock, leaving Forde town centre one hour before each departure. The hospital stop moved outside the hospital grounds in February.
- The airport bus runs in connection with departures and arrivals, not on a fixed clock timetable.
- It leaves Forde town centre one hour before a flight departure.
- The journey takes about 20 minutes.
- From 5 February the city bus and airport bus no longer stop at "Forde Central Hospital" inside the hospital grounds. They use the Vievegen stops nearby instead.
- The Vievegen stops were renamed from "Hatlehaugen" to "Forde Central Hospital Vievegen" on the same date.
- Platform A is for buses towards the town centre, platform B for buses towards Vieasen and Brulandsvellene.
- Routes 100, 110, 250, 272, 820 and 830 still use the stops inside the hospital area. Only the city and airport buses moved.
- Fares and routes are published by Skyss, the Vestland county operator.
- Taxis are available during the airport's opening hours, with a journey of about 17 minutes.
- Three local firms serve it: Bygstad Taxi, Sande Taxi and Forde Taxi.
The airport bus
- It runs between the airport and Forde town centre in connection with departures and arrivals. For an airport with a handful of daily flights, that is the sensible design.
- Going out, it leaves the town centre one hour before flight departure.
- The journey is about 20 minutes.
- Fares and route information come from Skyss, the Vestland county public transport operator.
The hospital stop moved
- This is a change that a guide written earlier will get wrong. From 5 February the city bus and the airport bus stopped calling at the "Forde Central Hospital" stop inside the hospital grounds.
- They use the Vievegen stops instead, which are nearby but not inside the site.
- Those stops were renamed at the same time, from "Hatlehaugen" to "Forde Central Hospital Vievegen".
- Platform A serves buses towards the town centre, platform B buses towards Vieasen and Brulandsvellene.
- Six other routes were not affected. Routes 100, 110, 250, 272, 820 and 830 still use the stops inside the hospital area, named Forde Central Hospital C and D.
Taxi
- Taxis are available during the airport's opening hours, which for a small Norwegian airport is a real qualification rather than a formality.
- The journey is about 17 minutes.
