Tromso Airport (TOS) to the city

City buses stop a short walk from the halls. A single is NOK 50, but a Tromso only off-peak ticket costs NOK 30 in the evening and midday.

  • A single is NOK 50 for an adult in one zone, NOK 25 for a child, senior or military.
  • Tromso has an off-peak single at NOK 30, and it applies nowhere else in the region.
  • It is valid on weekdays from 09:00 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to 01:00.
  • Most flights land inside those windows, so check the clock before buying the full fare.
  • City routes 40 and 42 reach the centre in about 15 to 20 minutes, from a stop a short walk from the halls.
  • The separate Airport Express Bus stops right outside the departure hall, but its tickets cannot be bought in the Svipper app.

The off-peak trick

  • NOK 50 is the ordinary adult single.
  • NOK 30 is the Tromso off-peak single, valid on weekdays from 09:00 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to 01:00.
  • That evening window runs to one in the morning, which covers most arriving flights at a northern airport in winter.
  • Young adults aged 18 to 29 pay the same NOK 50 in one zone but less across multiple zones.
