Getting from Matsuyama Airport to the city

The times that matter

• JR Matsuyama station: about 15 minutes by car or limousine bus.
• Matsuyama-shi station: about 20 minutes. This is the Iyotetsu station in the commercial centre, and it is the more useful of the two for most visitors.
• Dogo Onsen: about 40 minutes. The hot spring district is the main reason people come to Matsuyama.
• Matsuyama Kanko Port: about 20 minutes by car, for ferries to Hiroshima and the Inland Sea islands.
• The airport notes that these times vary with traffic.

Two kinds of bus

• Local route buses and the limousine bus are listed separately, each with its own fares and timetables.
• The limousine is the faster and more direct of the two, and it is the one aimed at air passengers.

Reaching the rest of Shikoku

• The airport publishes access guides by region, covering the Toyo, Chuyo and Nanyo areas of Ehime, and onward to Kagawa, Tokushima, Kochi, Okayama and Hiroshima.
• From Shikokuchuo, for example, the expressway route via Mishima Kawanoe and Matsuyama interchanges takes about an hour and a half, and the JR Yosan line about two hours.
• Highway buses on the Takamatsu, Kochi and Tokushima routes stop at Mishima Kawanoe interchange, which is a useful interchange point.

Context
