Oita (OIT): the K route to Beppu and Oita, no booking needed
The airport bus desk is in arrivals. No reservation is needed. Route K runs to JR Oita station via Kitsuki, Hiji and Beppu, about an hour to Oishi.
- There is an airport bus information desk in the arrivals lobby, with ticket machines beside it and at the stands.
- Only the machine next to the desk takes credit cards.
- No reservation is needed. Boarding is first come, first served.
- IC transport cards work on board, though not for discounted fares.
- Route K runs to Oita and Beppu. Kitsuki interchange is 19 minutes and 900 yen.
- Hiji is 27 minutes and 1300 yen; Grand Mercure Beppu Bay 33 minutes and 1600 yen (set down only on services from the airport).
- Kamegawa 35 minutes, Beppu Kanko Port 42, Beppu Kitahama 47, Oita Oishi 60, then JR Oita station.
- Departures can shift if a flight is late, and the airport warns that traffic may delay arrivals, so leave margin.

Route K, to Oita and Beppu

- Kamegawa: 35 minutes. Beppu Kanko Port: 42 minutes. Beppu Kitahama: 47 minutes.
- Oishi in Oita: 60 minutes, then on to JR Oita station.

A warning the airport gives itself
- Departure times from the airport can change if flights are late.
- Traffic can delay arrivals at the airport, so the operator advises choosing an earlier bus than you think you need.
The airport
- Oita Airport is on a reclaimed spit in Beppu Bay, on the Kunisaki peninsula, about 40 km from Oita city.
- Beppu is the hot spring town that most visitors are heading for, and it is closer than Oita.
